The opening film was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattlefilm.org\/festival\/film\/detail.aspx?id=18568&#038;fid=13\"><i>The Illusionist<\/i><\/a>. I didn&#8217;t go.<\/p>\n<p>But I did end up buying a bunch of tickets for other films. I chalk some of this up to the fact that last year was my first SIFF so this year it&#8217;s not as new and exciting, but at the same time, there aren&#8217;t movies by directors that I absolutely love (like <a href=\"\/jason\/posts\/2005\/2047\/\"><i>2046<\/i><\/a> or <a href=\"\/jason\/posts\/2005\/review-mysterious-skin\/\"><i>Mysterious Skin<\/i><\/a>).
